1. Brew a shot of espresso or prepare strong coffee using your preferred method.
2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot, but not boiling. Remove from heat.
3. Froth the milk using a frother or whisk vigorously until it becomes creamy and frothy.
4. Pour the espresso or coffee into a mug and stir in the vanilla syrup.
5. Slowly pour the frothed milk into the mug, holding back the foam with a spoon to retain it for later.
6. Spoon the remaining foam over the top of the latte.
7. Optional: Add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with ground cinnamon or cocoa powder for garnish.
8. Enjoy your homemade classic vanilla latte!
